When our family took over Cool Beans in May 2016, we had a grand vision to transform it into a destination that could become a real asset to parents/caregivers in Fort Collins and surrounding communities.  We wanted to get to know all of you, take the time to connect with your families, listening to your desired upgrades to our space and learn about this special business.  It has been such a joy to see many families and community groups come in to play and celebrate, making new memories.

Our year is up and we are READY! Ready to make some real change!

In July we plan to close for a short time to transform Cool Beans, updating, making it safer and bringing new play experiences.  We have plans to improve the safety, comfort and quality in our business. We have researched a variety of investment opportunities and business loans, a route we almost took.  After circling back to our priorities and mission we decided to go a different way.  

By going with this plan we are able to maintain our current pricing and provide you with upgraded and safe play space.

What's going to change:

The large structure:  New and improved large play space.  It will feature tunnel slides, climbers, playhouse, and a new large structure.  Also, safe playground padded flooring that will be easy to deep clean while keeping your children comfortable while they play.

Climbing Wall:  We will be installing a climbing wall, catering to children ages 4 and older with padding on the floor. No harness will be necessary as it will be under 6 feet tall.

Fully enclosed toddler area: This will be exclusive for our youngest guests.  Safe, padded for our crawlers and new walkers.  It will feature its own climber, slide, foam mats, toddler toys. Tailored to the two and younger crowd.

Café: Expanding the size of our café and putting in some new equipment to ensure a larger menu including freshly made pizzas and sandwiches, gluten free selection, upgraded espresso bar and some taps for local craft beers, a small wine selection to cater to our guests in the afternoons/evenings and extending our hours a bit.

Every dollar earned during this fundraising time will be used exclusively for our renovations and upgrades.

Frequently Asked Questions

1.  Are you asking for donations?

We are crowdfunding through our customers and in the community.  We are not selling stock, but every contribution comes with an award that our customer would typically pay for with us.  Hopefully these incentives encourage you to purchase upfront and enjoy after the renovation is complete.

We decided to forgo an actual Kickstarter campaign and crowdfund directly through our large network to avoid paying high processing fees, all money donated will go towards the renovation.

2.  What happens if you don't reach your funding goal?

We will continue to fundraise until we meet it.  Through our incentive based crowdfunding and our own personal investment we will be able to complete what we have planned.

3.  Are you going to raise prices after you re-open?

No.  Our admission pricing/café pricing will remain the same.  We will continue to offer military discounts, BOGO deals and specials to the community to make sure most families can come and play.  This is a big reason to do incentive based crowdfunding.  If we had taken on a large loan or a business investor, price raising would be inevitable.  By going this route we are committed to our pricing and our customers.  

Are you going to expand your Open Play hours?  What about age limits?

Yes!  We will, with the expansion of our café you will see our hours change to extend play time. We will also be able to cater to younger children with the enclosed toddler space. Older children will enjoy the new climbing options.

5.  Will you have sensory/special needs friendly areas?

We are committed to offering a sensory playtime on a monthly basis to appeal to all our families. We strive to create a welcoming environment for ALL on a daily basis.  

6. What if you decide to sell Cool Beans or quit before the renovation?
This is not an option.  Cool Beans is our family business and we love what we do.  We look forward to giving it the boost it needs to be a safe, engaging, fun place for families in Northern Colorado.  

***Risks and challenges:  Since taking over, we have discovered you cannot make everyone happy about everything. While we think this new playground will be a great benefit to the community there will be some who will say "We miss the treehouse". We hope this doesn't happen, but it could.  Again, safety and fun are our top priorities and we think we will create something everyone can be very excited about.

· Unlimited Membership for one year, active on our first day of reopening. This will include unlimited play for one child.  You may add another $75 for each additional child.
